This set of templates has been created during hands-on delivery of testing. As such they're proven but will need adjusting to meet your specific needs.

( Time and Issue Tracking )
As part of the Time Spend Analysis paper here's two templates that can be used to run your own study of that nature. The Daily Activity Sheet records where your team are spending their time each day. The Issue Log records non-bug issues that impact their availability to test, assigning to KPIs for business analysis.

( Team Pack )
Following on from the Recruitment Pack and Blog entry mentioned, here's another set of useful documents. This time there about the team you have in place. The Job Specs are two very typical roles, Test Analyst/Tester and a Test Manager. There's also a PDP Scratch Pad for getting some thoughts together for the SMART Goals. Then, just to make sure we're being mindful of possible issues we have a Retention Risk Matrix.

( Recruitment Pack )
There's actually a number of templates here that can be used in the recruitment process. As mentioned in the blog entry it is useful to have a pack like this in place to support your interview practice. This pack should include interview outlines, Job Specs and Org charts along with a couple of tools to use during and after recruitment.

( Test Strategy & Test Plan )
The Test Strategy contains the common areas of planning you'll need to consider for multiple projects. It includes where possible the IEEE829 elements and so compliments the Test Plan. Compare this to the Brief Test Plan which only includes only the criteria shown in the IEEE829 standard. Read through and modify the Test Plans to match your needs.

( Test Item Transmittal Report & Test Summary )
The IEEE829 standard includes two other documents besides the Test Plan. On is the Test Item Transmittal Report used to tell the Test Team what is being sent for testing. The other is the Test Summary Report that lets the Test Team tell others what the status of the testing items is.

( Test Time and Cost Calculator )
This Test Time and Cost Workbook allows rough calculations for testing to be assessed. The example is from a Web testing environment and is ideally used at the Project Initiation phase, feeding into the test request phase. You will need to change the environments and configurations and tweak the £$ values.

( Bug Tracking Report )
The Bug Report template is tied to the Measuring Quality Paper and should be read in conjunction with it. However the template can be used for less complex tracking of bugs and issues. While a bug tracking tool is advised this Excel sheet provides a quick and easy way to get started. When used via a service such as SharePoint or stored in CVS ensure version control is applied.

( Test Case Log )
For recording and tracking of Test Cases this Excel workbook will provide a simple way to do so. If this is being 'mailed around' or stored on a shared network ensure version control of some form is on place.
